Down another 2.5 pounds!
So far all I've really done is up my protein intake and try to increase my water. I'll typically have a protein shake (1.5-2 scoops of powder and 8 oz of 2% milk for a total of about 58g of protein!!) for breakfast. Most days of the week I'll try to get a protein bar in, too, for another 30g of protein, plus nuts, cheese, and chicken mixed in throughout the day.
I'm really going to focus on 64oz of water this week perhaps brush off the old Weight Watchers stuff. While I am super happy with my results so far, I haven't pulled down a big week yet. I'd love to hit 4 pounds by next Saturday to get out of the 230's.

Back At It
We meet again.
I'm up 10 pounds in 6 months. Not good, but it could have been worse. I'm still down 12 for the year. Not even remotely close to what I wanted to do. At all. So, I'm going to give it another whirl.
My first goals are to drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day and to eat (at least) one serving of nuts to start building up my protein intake, per my Reproductive Endocrinologist's direction.
It's Wednesday, a weird day to start anything in my opinion, but January 1st is a blank slate so that's why today's the day. My normal check in day will likely be Saturday or Sunday. By this first weigh in, I'd be happy with a 1-2 pound loss. And next week - my first full week to push for a big bopper!

Woo-hoo!!! I did it (plus some)!
I lost 3 pounds this week!!! 22.5 total. 228.5 currently. Half a pound below my goal, pre-pregnancy weight. I feel fantastic. =) I'll be scheduling my (much needed, much deserved) pedicure this week.
Next stop... 215.

still a loser
I'm down another 2 pounds this week! I was hoping for 2.5 so I would hit the 20 pound mark, but fell short. Hopefully this week everything falls into place. And I'm closing in on my first major goal of 229, pre-baby weight. Once I get there, I'm going for a pedicure. So excited!!!

still chuggin' along
Down another 2 pounds for a total of 14 so far this year!
I just added a weight loss ticker to the top of the page. 229 was the weight I was at before I got pregnant with my babies the morning of their transfer, so that's my first big milestone... getting back to pre-baby weight. I'll certainly keep working at it, and once I reach 229 I'll set a new goal for myself. Like I shared in my first post, my babies are one of the driving forces for me to want to lose this weight. I want to be healthy for them. I want to be here for them for a very, very, very long time - until I'm old and gray and they have to change my diapers! So many things are out of my control in terms of accidents and illness. There are quite a few diseases or conditions that can be prevented through living a healthy lifestyle like high blood pressure (which I already have), type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and obviously obesity and all of the complications associated with that.
If I'm being totally honest, the subject of trying to have another baby has come up (by me). I hope and pray that our family is blessed with another little one (or two, down the road), I don't now if it will happen on its own. If we need medical support again, financially it may not be an option. The way I see it, if I had a successful pregnancy, although it was high risk with multiples, at the starting weight of 229, that's where I want to be (if not less) to start trying to conceive. If I'm able to weigh even less, perhaps since my body has been through one pregnancy before it could happen unassisted, like a fresh healthy start.

holy smokes
This week's results are in:
SIX and a HALF pounds!!! Gone. In one week. I dropped into the next tens place, which I love!!! I really worked hard this week, eating my 30 Weight Watcher points, journaling everything, drinking lots of water, and eating fresh fruit and Greek yogurt for snacks to keep me feeling full longer.
So, that makes 11.5 pounds since January 1st. Not too shabby, especially considering that I threw in the towel and gained almost everything back after just a few weeks.
I have a strong support system in place. My best friend/sis-in-law (Brooke) is also doing WW at home with me. She had a lighter week with a half pound loss, but that brought her to about 8 since starting a few weeks back. And my hubby (Jamie) started tracking points this week... he had a real whopper of a weigh in -9.5 pounds. Crazy. If he wanted a Pepsi during the week, he'd have it, but just mark down the 3 points for it. It's all about moderation. There's nothing that's off limits. You just learn to make better choices to use up your points because, heck, who wants to go to bed at 6:00 because they're out of point for the day and hungry already? =) My parents are also in the loop with our (me and Jamie) weight loss efforts and are very encouraging. I called them before 8am this morning to share our exciting news!
For this coming week, I'm just going to keep going strong with what I did this week. As long as I lose I'll be happy, but if I could set a target I'm hoping for at least -2.5 by next Sunday.

I'm a loser!
Ok, this is more like it... this week I'm a loser! I was hoping for a little bit better of a week, but -3.5 pounds is a pretty good start.
I'm going to really make sure I drink at least 64 ounces of water. In a perfect world, I'll be closer to 100 ounces, but in order to drink 100 I first have to do 64. So 64 it is, and then if time allows, keep drinking. I read somewhere that to really help with weight loss you should drink half of your weight in ounces of water. According to that theory, I should consume 123. That just seems like an awful lot. I'd probably lose weight from running to the bathroom so much.
I also pulled out my old Weight Watchers materials from 2010. I know their program changes once or twice a year, but the nuts and bolts of it stay the same. And I know that I lost back in 2010 following the plan that they had at the time, so there's no reason it shouldn't work in 2013.

water, water everywhere
I have a tendency to overestimate my abilities. I overextend myself. A lot.
96 ounces of water is a lot of frickin water. I should have gone for 64 this week, met that goal, and then raised the bar. But not me... I'm special.
So far I've been able to drink somewhere between 64-96 every day. I only hit the old 96er twice so far. I do have to report that in just the 5 days of consuming at least the 64 ounces my face is remarkably clearer. I still have lots of shadow marks from recent acne, but new pimples can be counted on one have with fingers to spare. =)

I'm sick
Ugh, I have been as sick as a dog since Tuesday. It's either a head cold or some kind of sinus thing going on. The pressure in my face and head was beyond unbearable yesterday; I spent as much time as I could in bed while the little ones were napping. I didn't get all of my water in yesterday, maybe around 64 ounces, but I did good on Tuesday and so far today. One up side to being under the weather is that I've lost my appetite. I really can't smell or taste anything.
I did hop on the scale this morning, and it popped up with 247.5. Now, I know no one can lose three and a half pounds of fat in just two day. It's all water weight. And since I haven't been eating like I usually do, we'll see what next Tuesday's actual weigh in holds.

my starting point and week one goal
So, here's my starting point as of this morning:
It ain't pretty. Neither are those unpolished toenails.
I know everything that I need to do to lose weight. I've joined Weight Watchers more times than I can count. I could probably run the meetings over there! It's just a matter of actually doing what needs to be done. In the past I've also tried Jenny Craig, Slim Fast, Alli pills, Metabolife pills, and a handful of other pills. I've done unhealthy things to try to lose weight.
I'm going to take this journey one meal at a time. Not even day by day - I'm guilty of letting one poor choice ruin an entire day, or one day of slip ups turns into a weekend extravaganza. No more. One meal at a time. If I make a bad choice at lunch there's no reason why I can't save the rest of the day. No need to throw in the towel entirely.
So, my first goal for this week is to drink more water. 96 ounces a day is my goal. I have this huge 32 ounce cup, so over the course of the day I have to fill it up three times.
I'm also going to be more aware of what I'm putting into my mouth. But first things first, baby steps, water.
